Don’t miss East High Drama’s “ONE-ACTS of STEEL” — an evening of six one-acts, including some great comedy sketches, terrific drama, suspense and even a bit of romance. This is a great evening for the entire family. The shows run Thursday – Saturday, November 14, 15, and 16, at 7 p.m. and tickets are $5 at the door. Performances are in the East High Theatre.
The Alaska Museum of Science and Nature needs your help naming their new 800-pound pterosaur replica.
Submit your name, contact info and a short paragraph about the name you selected and why you think it’s the best. If your name is selected it will be on display with the pterosaur model and you’ll receive a prize!

Need some advice on college scholarships and financial aid? A presenter from the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education will be on hand at Teen Underground, Saturday, Nov. 9 from 2-4 p.m. to assist college-bound juniors and seniors and their parents. This will include information on the Alaska Performance Scholarship.
Celebrate Alaska Native Heritage Month and learn about Alaska Native culture, art, science and history through hands-on family activities. Museum general admission is free all day Sunday, Nov. 10, thanks to Wells Fargo.

Have fun learning to shoot target archery for free! Anchorage Parks and Recreation will be giving archery lessons every Saturday in November from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Kincaid Park Annex Bunker. Youth/adult instruction with emphasis on safety first. Open to anyone who is interested in learning to shoot a bow. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Come listen to The Winds of Time Recorder Ensemble as they present music from medieval to contemporary on soprano, alto, tenor, and bass recorders Sunday, Nov. 10, from 4:30-6 p.m. at Anchorage Lutheran Church. Recorders are accompanied by a variety of complementary instruments including guitar, percussion, and voice. Admission is free; donations are accepted.

Students designed wearable paper garments and they will be on display alongside a silent auction to raise money for The Children’s Lunchbox.
