FosterClub, the national network for young people in foster care, is looking for youth to join the FosterClub All-Star Team this summer. These teams will gain leadership and public speaking training and then travel to youth conferences to inspire their younger peers still in the foster care system.

The deadline for Alaska has been extended to March 31. If accepted all your expenses will be paid for and you’ll receive an end-of-summer stipend.

It’s time again for the Cardboard Sled Derby! Race down the Kincaid Park sledding hill in your sled made only from cardboard and duct tape or white glue. You’ll be judged by speed and distance. Head to Kincaid Park Saturday, March 29 and join the fun! For more information, call 343-4217.

Open mic! Follow the music at the Anchorage City Limits Cafe every Thursday. Musicians from Anchorage come and play some of their unique music. Sign up starting at 7 p.m. Artists who sign up on their Facebook page will be placed at the top of the list. Free and open to all ages.

Free youth drawing class! Learn beginning drawing techniques, design, form, shading techniques, and the enjoyment of drawing at the Fairview Rec Center Friday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m. Class is appropriate for beginners with a basic love of drawing. Bring a pencil and a sketch pad if you have it.
