Hey teen filmmakers! The Northwest Film Center’s annual Fresh Film NW (formerly the Young People’s Film Festival) celebrates the next generation of regional filmmakers by showcasing their work and circulating it around the region and beyond.

Submissions are judged by a jury panel of professional filmmakers and educators. Individual and group submissions from youth ages 13 to 19 are accepted.

The deadline to submit a film is August 1.

Anchorage Public Library needs volunteers for Fashion August, which culminates in a fashion show. Volunteers needed are stage hands, models (high school-aged or older, all body types and genders), dressers, technicians plus more for less specific jobs.

The Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
