Time is running out to enroll in the next class of the Alaska Military Youth Academy. Class starts on October 1st.

This program is tuition-FREE!

To qualify you must be between the ages of 16 and 18. You must be in need of your high school education – either not enrolled in high school or a GED program or at risk of not graduating with your peers. If you have your GED or HS diploma you are not eligible.

You must attend an orientation session to apply. The next orientation will be held at the Muldoon Job Center Monday, September 22 at 10 a.m.

Help raise awareness about the issues American children face by volunteering on Step Up for Kids Day, Tuesday, September 23.

Alaska Children’s Trust needs people of all ages to wave signs on the corner of Minnesota and Northern Lights from 4-6 p.m.

Hone your basketball skills at the Fairview Rec Center October 17 at the Run it Back mini-tourney. Games start at 1 p.m. Games are 20 minutes and the tournament is double elimination. There will be 4 divisions: Boys/Girls Middle School, Boys/Girls High School. Bring your own jerseys. All other rules apply. Trophies and prizes will be
