Aren’t these little guys the cutest? The Arc of Anchorage is bringing Denn Rodriguez, the artist and designer of the Octokitty brand, for a workshop Wednesday, September 24 at 6 p.m. Workshop is open to the public.

For only $10, make your own Mini Mr. Fancy Pants plush! Payment is at the door. RSVP is required.

Workshop is approximately 3 hours, supplies and snacks will be provided.

Time is running out to enroll in the October 1st class of the Alaska Military Youth Academy ~ AMYA
This program is tuition-FREE!

To qualify you must be between the ages of 16 and 18 on the start of the cycle. You must be in need of your high school education; either not enrolled in high school or a GED program or at risk of not graduating with your peers (behind in credits, enrolled and not attending, failing out, finding it difficult to learn in a traditional high school setting). If you have your GED or HS diploma you are not eligible.

You must attend an orientation session in order to apply. The next orientation session is today, September 15th at the Muldoon Job Center starting at 10 a.m.

Alaska Teen Media Institute has something to celebrate. They raised more than $4,000 thanks to 126 Kickstarter backers so they’re having a Pizza and Listening Party Friday, October 3. Head to the ATMI studios from 5-7 p.m. and enjoy FREE pizza. Headphones will be plugged in for you to listen to ATMI stories. Everyone is invited!

Que Pasa? – Anchorage

If you’re a Beatles’ fan then check out the Midnight Sons A Cappella Chorus this Saturday at the West High Auditorium as they deliver Beatles classics in four-part harmony. Also joining them are Breaking Point and Prince William Sound. Tickets are $10 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss a photo opp with the Yellow Submarine!

September 26 is the next No Fear of Success Night at Mountain View Boys and Girls Club. Head over from 9 p.m. to midnight and network with other youth. There will be a live D.J., free food and open gym. Hang out in a safe environment and meet other people.
