Celebrate 50 years of the Wilderness Act at the Anchorage Museum Friday, November 21. “Voices of the Wilderness” is a traveling exhibit celebrating artwork inspired by Alaska wilderness. The opening reception is from 6:30-9 p.m. There will be refreshments and lots of inspiring speakers.

Kriner’s Burgers & Pies is having their grand opening Saturday, November 22. Lots of family fun planned, including the famous Andy Kriner auctioning off pies every 30 minutes. All the proceeds go toward The Children’s Lunchbox, drawings all day, Facebook contest, create a pie contest, and the famous balloon artist, Twisted Balloons!!

Ever wonder how a snowflake is formed or why each one is different? UAA astronomy professor Dr. Travis Rector will answer these questions and discuss the physics of snow and how skis and waxes work Wednesday, November 19 at the Campbell Creek Science Center at 7 p.m.
Now hopefully there will be snow by the time he presents!
