This Saturday, Sept. 28, is the 20th Anniversary of National Public Lands Day. Show your spirit for public lands by volunteering outdoors at the Friends of the Campbell Creek Science Center from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Free pizza to all who volunteer.

Or come to their open house from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and try your hand at geocaching, archery, slacklining, disc golf and more while learning about the importance of exercising in the great outdoors. Come defend your right to read! Celebrate Banned Books Week at Anchorage Public Library’s Teens Read Out! Anchorage students along with local notable adults will read selections of banned and challenged books in celebration of our First Amendment rights this Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5-7:30 p.m.

Head to the Mountain View library for their duelist card meet up Tuesday Sept. 24 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, or Magic: the Gathering; all collectible card gamers are invited to meet, play, and discuss their favorite games at the library. Bring your own deck or learn to assemble one with the cards we have. No trades will be allowed. All ages and skill levels welcome.
