Free Museum Day Sunday, October 12! Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a cultural food tasting and a dance performance from the Mexican folkloric group Xochiquetzal-Tigun. At 4 p.m. watch the documentary film “The Graduates/Los Graduados,” which explores issues in education today through a diverse array of Latino and Latina adolescents from across the United States. Museum general admission is free all day thanks to Wells Fargo.
The Anchorage Museum is pairing science fiction with science fact. Watch the 1959 Ed Wood sci-fi classic film “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” Thursday, October 9 at 7 p.m., then enjoy a fun, informal conversation with UAA planetarium manager Omega Smith about the possibilities of life in outer space and what alien life might look like.
Cyrano’s Off-Center Playhouse is looking for actors for Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. Auditions are October 11 at noon.

Get ready for a flash mob — zombie style! Underground Dance Company is inviting the public to participate in a Thriller-style flash mob for The Alaska Multiple Sclerosis Center October 25. In order to participate you must attend at least one rehearsal Friday, October 10 or Saturday, October 19. The cost is $40 to participate.
