Volunteer for the GREAT ALASKA MARINE DEBRIS SORTING PROJECT for the OCEANS. Be part of the most ambitious marine debris recycling project ever attempted. Sorting will take place indoors from 9am to 5pm in the North Star Terminal at the Port of Anchorage. Volunteers receive lunch a T-shirt and can take up to 6 buoys home if they choose for repurposing. Bring work gloves and comfortable shoes.
Gulf of Alaska Keeper (GoAK) and Parley for the Oceans are working together to sort 2000 cubic years of marine debris collected on Montague and Naked Islands in Prince William Sound starting on July 16.
