Calling talented Anchorage teens! Serendipity Adult Day Services is looking for volunteers who are musicians, dancers or actors who would like to put on 30-minute performances for clients. They are also seeking people who like playing card games or doing crafts.

Hospice of Anchorage is seeking volunteers age 14 and up for the Forget Me Not Grief Program. Help children, teens and caregivers adjust to the death of someone important in their lives.

No previous experience required. Must attend full training schedule and commit to volunteering for one full year.

Join the Alaska Marine Conservation Council, the Alaska Ocean Observing System and the Alaska Waterways Council to clean up our Anchorage coast! Head to Lyn Ary Park or Point Woronzoff Sunday, June 22 for a morning of beach cleaning, cookie eating, and trash art making. The fun starts at 10 a.m.

Last year, volunteers collected more than 6,000 pieces of trash from our beaches in just two hours! Everyone welcome. Please come prepared to get a bit dirty. Boots and work gloves recommended.

No need to RSVP if you’re coming to the Lyn Ary Beach. If you’d like to go to Point Woronzoff, please email rsheltonbrooks@gmail.com.

Join and help Anchorage Park Foundation and Anchorage Parks and Recreation revitalize Spenard’s Roosevelt Park, Saturday June 14. The park is getting a new swingset this month. There are lots of fun landscaping and gardening projects to give this neighborhood park a spring facelift.
