Plant a tree in honor of the Lorax! Municipality of Anchorage Parks and Recreation will plant white spruce seedlings Wednesday, August 13 in Russian Jack Springs Park starting at 6 p.m. White spruce trees are native to Southcentral Alaska and provide great habitat for birds and other animals. Bring your shovel! Water and snacks will be provided.

Youth Employment in Parks crews are in Moen Park this week working on trails. On Saturday morning, volunteers will assist with improvements around the trails to open it up.
Tools, coffee and a delicious lunch will be provided for volunteers!

Teen Volunteers – we have a super fun opportunity for you! On Saturday, July 26, Boys and Girls Club Woodland Park Clubhouse will be hosting their annual soccer jamboree from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This will be a fun day of scrimmages between soccer teams ages 3-7. There’s also a carnival on that is free to our soccer players and their families and that’s where YOU come in!
They need face painters, crazy-hair doers, and game facilitators to make this a fun experience for everyone. Please contact Jennifer Brown at jbrown@bgcalaska.org if you’re interested in a shift from 10:00-12:30 and/or 12:30-3:00.

The fair will provide recreational activities, health screenings, educational activities and nutrition education to Anchorage kids.
