Art contest! Youth ages 18-24 are invited to participate in the Alaska preliminary round of the 2015 Arctic Council Youth Art Contest. Alaska Humanities Forum, Alaska State Council on the Arts and Alaska Federation of Natives – Official Page are working together to facilitate a statewide contest to choose three (3) artworks for entry in the international competition.

Deadline for submission is February 23.

Auditions! Juneteenth Alaska is holding auditions for their first-ever Legacies of the Past Drama Series, February 21 at 4 p.m. at the First Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 3600 MacInnes St. Three plays will be performed during the Juneteenth celebration this summer.

Anchorage Public Library is looking for a narrator for a Readers Theater version of the 2015 Anchorage Reads title: The Raven’s Gift by Don Rearden. Auditions will be held at the Loussac Library (36th & Denali) February 17th from 5:30-7:30 pm in the 3rd floor staff conference room. Be prepared to read from the script. Performance date will be March 12.
Characters include:
Narrator: any age/gender
2 Men: late 20s-mid 30s
Girl: 20s (Yup’ik)
Woman: 60+ (Yup’ik)
Man: 50+
