The UAA Department of Music is proud to present the 28th annual Jazz Week Festival! Jazz Week, March 5-8, integrates student and professional performers in a significant “hands-on” experience.

Jazz Week encourages students and community members to participate in the performance environment alongside the guest artists. This year’s festival will feature trumpeter Dale Curtis for 3 days in master classes, rehearsals and evening concerts. Friday and Saturday Dale, with local professionals, will teach master classes, rehearse with selected UAA student and high school groups, and appear alongside these ensembles during the final concerts.

UAA is wrapping up their week of Winterfest with a closing party Saturday, March 1 from 4-6 outside the Cuddy Quad. Build a winter landscape with snow sculptures and forts, ice lanterns, miniature snowmen and much more.

There will be live music and warm food, along with innovative art installations featuring snow, ice and fire. The after-party is 10-11 p.m. Feel free to bring an instrument, sit around the bonfire and buy some late night snacks from food vendors.

Astronomy professor Travis Rector will be on-site to talk about the complexities and beauty of snow. Look at snow in a new way through microscopes, snow goggles and other languages.

This awesome event is FREE and open to the public!

zAKs Boardroom, Collaborative Minds and Alyeska Resort are proud to present the 4th Annual Frostbite Festival, a celebration devoted to raising money for the Girdwood Community Fund, Feb. 7-9.

Kick off the three-day event Friday at 6 p.m. with local shredders showcasing their skills while a massive bonfire keeps everyone toasty!
