Open mic! Follow the music at the Anchorage City Limits Cafe every Thursday. Musicians from Anchorage come and play some of their unique music. Sign up starting at 7 p.m. Artists who sign up on their Facebook page will be placed at the top of the list. Free and open to all ages.

Free youth drawing class! Learn beginning drawing techniques, design, form, shading techniques, and the enjoyment of drawing at the Fairview Rec Center Friday, March 21 at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 at 2 p.m. Class is appropriate for beginners with a basic love of drawing. Bring a pencil and a sketch pad if you have it.

Calling all photographers! It’s open projector at the Downtown Kaladi this Sunday at 10 a.m. Bring a series of images you’d like to have constructively critiqued by those who attend. Alaska Photographic Center presents Photo Tuesday each month. This Tuesday, Alaska Dispatch photojournalist Loren Holmes will present a special photo lecture at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center titled “3,000 miles along the Iditarod Trail.” Loren will share photos from the past three Iditarod races and talk about the challenges of covering The Last Great Race. Loren’s photos are truly a sight worth seeing! Lecture starts at 7 p.m.

The Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center is hosting a science fiction night Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. Come watch the 1950’s sci-fi movie, “Attack of the Crab Monsters” and then enjoy a fun, informal conversation about zooarchaeology with UAA science professor Diane Hanson. This event is FREE and open to the public!
