Volunteer Opportunity Fair Thursday, April 10, from noon-4 p.m. at the Anchorage Muldoon Job
Center.

This event provides an opportunity for young Alaskans to connect with employers.

With more than 50 booths, the fair will focus on current and summer jobs, apprenticeship, volunteer and
internship opportunities, and educational programs in all industries for youth and young adults from 14-
24.

Que Pasa? – Anchorage

Help support autism research and rock out at the same time! Anchorage Rocks for Autism 2014 is holding an all-ages show Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Anchorage Community Works. The show features Thunderfish, Ships Without Harbor, Kill Theory, Noise Brigade, and more. $5 cover. All proceeds go to Autism Society of Alaska.

Want to do something cool this summer? Check out the Juneau Icefield Research Program!

Applications are now being accepted for the 2014 summer expedition, and are open to senior high school, undergraduate, and graduate-level students. The expedition will run June 22-August 17 from Juneau, Alaska to Atlin, B.C.

Students will receive training and experience in backcountry skiing, glacier travel, and crevasse rescue; participate in JIRP’s long-running mass balance and surface elevation surveys; receive lectures from scientists on natural sciences topics; and perform individual research projects.

Learn the ancient customs of decorating Easter eggs at the Eagle River Nature Center Sunday, April 6, at 2 p.m. Learn techniques using melted beeswax and how natural ingredients found in a kitchen offer endless spectrums of hues for dyeing eggs. All materials provided except for hard-boiled eggs: bring 2-4 per person.
