Hospice of Anchorage is seeking volunteers age 14 and up for the Forget Me Not Grief Program. Help children, teens and caregivers adjust to the death of someone important in their lives.
No previous experience required. Must attend full training schedule and commit to volunteering for one full year.

Calling all musicians! Join the Red, White and Blue Crew and 10 members of the University of Washington Husky Marching Band in Anchorage’s Fourth of July celebration on the Park Strip. Musicians age 12 and up are needed.

Celebrate World Refugee Day – JUNE 20 at Mountain View Lions Park tomorrow from 4-7 p.m. There will be an awards ceremony for communities and people who have welcomed refugees to Alaska. Also a free BBQ, children’s activities and live performances by a variety of entertainers.

Join the Alaska Marine Conservation Council, the Alaska Ocean Observing System and the Alaska Waterways Council to clean up our Anchorage coast! Head to Lyn Ary Park or Point Woronzoff Sunday, June 22 for a morning of beach cleaning, cookie eating, and trash art making. The fun starts at 10 a.m.
Last year, volunteers collected more than 6,000 pieces of trash from our beaches in just two hours! Everyone welcome. Please come prepared to get a bit dirty. Boots and work gloves recommended.

Winning designs will be used as part of a postcard advertising campaign to raise the profile of their Sister Cities program and to increase community awareness of the existing international partnerships.
