The VoxVan project transforms an everyday van into a mobile microstory studio celebrating the 1915 Anchorage founding.

The project will give residents of all kinds the opportunity to tell their own story online and on-air by describing what this city and place means to them.

If you are 15-22 years old enter their online hip hop/spoken word contest by Monday, June 30, for a chance to win $5,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C., to perform at the Raise Up event in September.

Que Pasa? – Anchorage

Get your hands dirty and create a small, artful planter with a plastic bottle at the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center Saturday, June 28, from 2-4 p.m. Participants also can add to the museum’s garden installation. Dirt and a limited quantity of plants provided. Bring your own plastic bottle to reuse. This event is held in conjunction with the exhibition “Gyre: The Plastic Ocean.”

Direction Alaska is putting on Youth Network Nights at the Mountain View Boys Club in Anchorage Alaska every other Friday.

The purpose of these events is to provide a place for Anchorage’s youth to network and have a good time in a safe environment.
