This year, Loussac Library is bringing back the “Escape from the Holidays” Double Feature, Saturday, December 27. These are films are holiday free – no turkeys, no carols, and no Santas!

All films are free and open to the public.

Film 1: noon – Retired Old West gunslinger William Munny reluctantly takes on one last job, with the help of his old partner and a young man. (1992, R)

Film 2: 3 p.m. – An aging group of outlaws look for one last big score as the “traditional” American West is disappearing around them. (1969, R)

Head to Anchorage’s only weekly live poetry show, every Monday at City Limits. Open mic meets slam meets feature show — all with a house band and no cover. Don’t miss Iron Poet Challenge. It’s like the show “Iron Chef,” but instead of a secret ingredient, contestants are given a word or theme to incorporate into a poem. All that plus improvisational musical stylings from house band, The Hacks. And free appetizers! The fun starts at 9 p.m.
