Are you destined to be a 2014 youth delegate? An adult trainer? Alaska Youth for Environmental Action’s Civics and Conservation Summit applications are now open!
The summit brings 20 youth leaders to Juneau for a week of high-impact, fun, and adrenaline-pumping civic engagement lessons, March 17-21.
During this event, youth will learn how to talk with the media, how to communicate with elected officials, how to read a bill, and how to impact decisions our leaders make about our environment and our lives. There will be sessions on the tribal resolution process, environmental justice, and defining sources of power and influence.
For more information about becoming a youth delegate or trainer, visit http://ayea.org/ccs2014/ or Ayea Teens Rock.
If you have any questions about the application process, e-mail Claire at claire@akcenter.org.
The deadline to apply is January 9, 2014.
