Archaeology Day at the University Center

Head to the University Center Saturday, Oct. 19, for Archaeology Day from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. You can try to shoot a model bison using a spear throwing board (atlatl), learn about the human skeleton, find artifacts in a mock dig, make stone artwork or petroglyphs, learn how old a cabin is from its logs, how to make a basket, about animal bones from archaeological sites, and how to make a stone knife or arrowhead. An archaeologist will be there to identify artifacts, and there will be movies and displays about archaeology in Alaska.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
